SALARY: $130k - $180k plus $1,200 - $10k bonus
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Looking for a candidate with 5 years RPA workflow automation and is hands on. Low code / no code power automates UI path Zapier or n8n.io. this team build ai applications for attorneys and business build new workflow-built AI specific workflows need to incorporate automation and AI RPA robotic process automation to create next generation of RPAs
That is due to this being a process-oriented management role not people management. They should have a proven track record of implementing scalable automation solutions that deliver measurable efficiency gains and cost savings.
Someone that builds workflows at an enterprise sized company, has experience leading business implementations and solutions that have high impact across many departments, they should have experience leading and guiding this type of initiative.
•20 people total
•Majority of this team was absorbed from other IT functions like the data engineering and software development team. Sidley has exiting legacy applications that require support, along with a new focus solely focused on AI, hence why we are continuing to add to this team.
•Both the Director of Software Engineering and Director of AI Engineering lead both the legacy and new AI initiatives teams cohesively.
Vision for the team:
•This team’s goal is to transform the business, and how we development applications to create efficiencies at Sidley.
•The team should expect to see big amounts of growth trajectory in the upcoming years, for new hires to step into management and supervisory level positions, especially due to this being a new team.
Day to Day:
•There are current workflows in place and we also have a need to build new workflows, but AI specific workflows. This person’s main responsibility will be to build AI workflow solutions for complex use cases that cannot be solves by generic solutions.
•Presently, the team is using UI Path to solution for use cases, but this can present as time consuming, thus we have a need to incorporate automation and AI in developing workflows out further.
•This role is majority RPA (Robotic process automation), we are hoping that someone can join the team with experience using RPA in low-code/no-code environments such as Power Automate, UI Path, Zapier and n8n.io. The goal in doing so is to focus on developing scalable automation processes.
•On a day to day, this person will be combining AI and RPA to create the next generation of RPA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of RPA and workflow automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Automate, UIPath, Zapier, and n8n.io.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize automation opportunities, documenting requirements and designing workflows that align with business objectives.
- Manage the automation lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to testing, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring solutions are effective and aligned with business goals.
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies, such as vision models and agentic UI control, to enhance and expand the scope of automation capabilities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automated workflows, providing clarity on process logic and operational procedures.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate the impact of automation initiatives, including cost savings, error reduction, and time efficiency.
- Conduct regular assessments of current processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending automation solutions to streamline workflows.
- Ensure that automation implementations meet security and compliance standards, working closely with IT and security teams as needed.
- Provide hands-on support for automation tools, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliable operation of automated workflows.
- Mentor and train team members on automation best practices, fostering a collaborative and innovation-driven environment.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate and deploy new automation technologies that support the organization’s goals.
- Promote the value of automation within the organization, conducting workshops and presentations to demonstrate ROI and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in RPA or workflow automation, with hands-on experience in low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Automate, UIPath, Zapier, or n8n.io.
- Proven track record of implementing scalable automation solutions that deliver measurable efficiency gains and cost savings.
- Strong understanding of automation lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment.
- Familiarity with security and compliance considerations in automation processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and address complex process challenges.
